Minus 35 Wind Chill Coming to Hudson; Advisory Issued

A wind chill advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. on Thursday until noon on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory that goes into effect 6 p.m. on Thursday and will be valid until noon on Friday.

The following is the full text of the advisory: 

... WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THURSDAY TO NOON CST FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THURSDAY TO NOON CST FRIDAY.

* WIND CHILL VALUES: 25 BELOW TO 35 BELOW ZERO.

* MAIN IMPACTS: EXPOSED SKIN WILL RISK FROST BITE... AND HYPOTHERMIA IS ALSO POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. WHEN VENTURING OUTDOORS... MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.

... PROLONGED PERIOD OF DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS EXPECTED WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

.A SURGE OF ARCTIC AIR WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. BY TONIGHT SUB ZERO TEMPERATURES AND BRISK NORTHWEST WINDS WILL COMBINE TO CREATE WIND CHILL VALUES OF 25 BELOW TO 35 BELOW ZERO ACROSS MUCH OF MINNESOTA. A SECONDARY BLAST OF COLD AIR WILL STREAM DOWN THURSDAY. DANGEROUS WIND CHILL VALUES OF 25 BELOW TO 35 BELOW ZERO WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MINNESOTA... AND SPREAD INTO WESTERN WISCONSIN. WARMER TEMPERATURES AND LIGHTER WINDS WILL RETURN BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
