UPDATE: Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

The motorcyclist killed may have been same one police pursued earlier. The westbound bike crashed on County Road E near the Splat Tag Paintball Park and Game Unlimited Hunting Club.

UPDATE (4:55 p.m., Sept. 3, 2012): The motorcyclist killed has been identified at David Boyce, 34, of Baldwin, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol. The crash remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL POST (1:20 a.m., Sept. 3, 2012): A motorcyclist is dead after a crash just after 10 p.m. on Sunday at County Road E near 103rd Street, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

According to the State Patrol, the bike may have fled from police earlier, but it was not involved in a chase at the time of the crash.

The driver was headed westbound, toward the four corners of the , the , the Town of Warren and the Town of Richmond, near the Splat Tag Paintball Park and Game Unlimited Hunting Club.

Wisconsin State Patrol released the following information at 12:39 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3:

At 10:05 PM on Sunday September 02, 2012 a crash occurred on CTH E  at Approximately 1/4 MI of 103rd Street in ST. CROIX County near HAMMOND. 

Assisting agencies included , Roberts Fire, and New Richmond Fire. 

The crash involved 1 fatality. Vehicle and occupant information, if available, is on attached page(s). 

The details of the crash are as follows: 

On September 2nd at approximately 10:05 hours a single motorcycle was westbound on CTH E when it left the roadway crashing into the north embankment. Preliminary information reveals it may have fled from police earlier; however was not being actively pursued. The operator was not wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
