Three Vehicles Collide on Highway 35; One Driver Airlifted

According to Chief Deputy Scott Knudson, Joshua Marcello of New Richmond was driving north in a 1991 Chevy pickup on Highway 35 when he struck from behind a 2006 Jeep Commander driven by Benjamin Hoffman of Hudson. Hoffman was stopped waiting to turn left on Old Highway 35. Hoffman's vehicle was pushed into the southbound land where it was struck again by a 2006 Dodge sedan driven by Timothy Joseph Anderson of Lake City, MN.

Rescue workers extricated Marcello from the wreck and he was airlifted via LifeLink helicopter. As of Monday morning, Knudson said Marcello was in stable condition at Regions.
Two passengers in Marcello's vehicle, Robert Raley of Hudson and a Hudson juvenile, were both brought to Hudson Hospital and treated for non-incapcitating injuries, according to Knudson.

The other two drivers and passenger Loriann Anderson were not injured. All drivers and passengers were wearing safety belts.
Knudson said that inattentive driving was a contributing factor to the crash, and that the incident remains under investigation.
