Snowfall to Complicate Friday Morning Commute; Advisory Issued

Snow already is making for a slippery morning commute. Expect 3 to 6 inches of snow by this evening. Snowfall could be heavy through this morning before tapering off by this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Hudson area valid until 6 p.m. Snow has been falling off-and-on in Hudson since 1 a.m., and the Friday morning commute is expected to be more slippery than usual in spots.

.SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTH THIS MORNING ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN. SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS EAST CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN. THE HIGHER SNOW TOTALS WILL BE FOUND ALONG INTERSTATE 90. THE AREA AFFECTED IS LOCATED MAINLY EAST OF A LINE FROM MONTEVIDEO...ST CLOUD AND RUSH CITY. THE ACCUMULATING SNOW IS EXPECTED TO SLOWLY TAPER OFF ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON.

* TIMING: SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES...WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING BEFORE TAPERING OFF THIS AFTERNOON.

* MAIN IMPACT: SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 6 INCHES BY FRIDAY EVENING. THE HIGHER SNOW TOTALS ARE EXPECTED ALONG INTERSTATE 90.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
