Traffic Alert: Semi-Truck Catches Fire, Impacts Traffic
While traveling east on Highway 94 a truck started on fire backing up traffic around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5.
Traffic was backed up in Hudson when a semi-truck caught fire on east-bound Interstate 94 near mile post 2 at 8 p.m.
The right lane of the highway was most affected. The Hudson Fire Department along with the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene.
According to state troopers: the truck fire in Hudson caused two of the three eastbound lanes to close for about an hour while Troopers of the Wisconsin State Patrol, Eau Claire Post worked to clear the scene.

Meanwhile, about 20 minutes later troopers responded to a second
fire on eastbound Interstate 94 at mile post 60, near Eau Claire where a truck caught on fire after running over a mattress on the road.
There was no hazardous cargo on either unit. Both were hauling food products and incidents are under investigation.
