UPDATE: Name Released of Woman Killed in Highway 35 Crash

A 22-year-old woman was pronounced dead at Hudson Hospital after she crashed into the southbound ditch of Highway 35 just south of Interstate 94 on Friday afternoon.

UPDATE (7:36 a.m., Nov. 26, 2012): Hudson Police have identified the woman killed in Friday's single-vehicle crash as Myrrhia J. Kleinbrook, 22, of River Falls, according to press release updated on Monday morning.

According to the release, Kleinbrook was driving north on Highway 35 when her vehicle veered into the median under the Hanley Road overpass. Her four-door car hit the guardrail, crossed the median and both southbound lanes of traffic before hitting a concrete culvert in the west ditch.

Kleinbrook was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the release. Wisconsin State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.

ORIGINAL POST (4:25 a.m., Nov. 24, 2012): A 22-year-old woman died after crashing into the southbound ditch of Highway 35 just south of Interstate 94 on Friday afternoon, according to a Hudson Police Department press release.

Hudson Police, Hudson Fire, and St. Croix EMS & Rescue responded to the crash scene at about 3:20 p.m. and found a black four-door sedan in the ditch with the woman inside, according to the release. Rescue personnel extricated the woman from the vehicle and brought her to Hudson Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and no passengers in the woman's car. Hudson Police and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities are withholding the woman's name and hometown until her next of kin can be notified.
