Woman Recovering after Rock Climbing Incident at Willow Falls

A woman was standing at the bottom of a rock wall tending a line for another rock climber at about 9 p.m. on July 9, when a rock fell from above and hit her in the head, said Kim Eby, Chief of St. Croix County EMS.

A rock climber at Willow Falls was transported to Regions Hospital last week after a rock fell on her head.

The woman was at the bottom of the rock wall doing line tending for another person who was up on the line at about 9 p.m. on July 9, when a rock fell from above and hit her in the head, said Kim Eby, Chief of St. Croix County EMS.

The woman was wearing a helmet, which definitely helped, Eby said, but she did receive a laceration to her forehead and some other bumps and bruises.

The woman was transported to Regions Hospital, but is home now, Eby said, and doing well.
