Zor Roadrunner Driver Crashes into Crowd During Hudson Booster Days Parade

There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash, Hudson Police Sgt. Geoff Willems said. No one was transported from the scene, but several bystanders—all juveniles—did report minor injuries that include bumps and bruises.

A “freak accident” occurred during Saturday morning’s Booster Days Parade, when a driver with the Zor Roadrunners drove off of Second Street near Pudge’s Bar and crashed into a crowd of bystanders.

There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash, Hudson Police Sgt. Geoff Willems said. No one was transported from the scene, but several bystanders—all juveniles—did report minor injuries that include bumps and bruises.

Hudson Police are not planning on issuing a citation at this time.

Generally speaking citations are only issued in a situation like this if there is a clear disregard for public safety, Willems said. At this point, it does not appear there was any reckless intent—or anything this driver was doing at the time of the crash that hasn’t been done by this group for years.

“It was a freak accident,” Willems said. “Thankfully no one was seriously injured.”
