Council Bids Farewell to Lee Wyland

District 4 Alderperson Lee attended his final Hudson Common Council meeting on Tuesday after being redistricted out of his seat. Kurt TeWinkel was elected on April 3 to fill the position.

District 4 Alderperson Lee attended his final Hudson Common Council meeting at on Tuesday and was awarded a plaque by Hudson Mayor Alan Burchill.

"This is for Alderman District 4, City of Hudson Common Council, and your contributions as a member of the Public Safety Committee, Finance Committee, Park Board, Avisory Joint Fire Board, St. Croix EMS Commission and liaision to the School Board and Public Utilities Commission," Burchill said. "We really appreciate all the work you did in representing the Fourth District." 

Wyland had his turn to speak at the end of the meeting.

"I'd like to first say thank you to the residents who voted me into office," Wyland said. "It's been an honor to serve. It's an honor to sit here as your representative and make the best decisions I could make. And to this council, the people who I sit with every couple weeks and and work through what the best answer is: Thank you for the opportunity, and I give it to you to find the right answers in the future." 

Wyland was when the district lines were redrawn for the 2012 election. Kurt TeWinkel was elected on April 3, and will take over District 4 Alderperson duties at the annual organization meeting on April 17.
