In the only other contested race in Hudson, North Hudson Village Board of Trustees incumbents Marc Zappa and Colleen O'Brien-Berglund easily won re-election. Two write-in candidates, Paul Rode and Sandra Whalen are vying for the third trustee seat, and Rode holds a 19-17 edge at the moment. The results won't be official until the final canvass takes place.

Jamie Johnson issued the following statement:

I feel very blessed and humbled by the result of our hard work.  I think the voters responded favorably to our positive message.  I am very thankful for those that supported the campaign with their money, time, letters of support and/or votes.  Now I am ready to go to work with other board members to face important issues for this school district and community, which include selecting a new high school principal and resolving our secondary space issues.

Bruce Hanson issued the following statement:

I am very grateful for the overwhelming support in the Hudson School Board of Education Spring Election.  I am committed to working hard and bringing value to the needs of our kids, teachers, administration and community.  It will be a great honor to serve in this role and I am very excited to get engaged with the other board members and apply my skills to contribute quickly in advancing the needs of our district.  Thank you again to all of those supporting me throughout the entire campaign - genuinely appreciate it.

Jeanette Kunz issued the following statement:

I am fortunate to have had the support of some phenomenal people in this community and could not be more appreciative of their incredible efforts and genuine character.  The message that I shared during the campaign focused on giving a voice back to the stakeholders, resolving the space issue in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner, and ensuring the children are offered top notch education with teacher inclusion.  It is my hope that these issues will be advocated by the future discussions and decisions of the school board.

Jim Schrock issued the following statement:

The results are in, and Jamie Johnson and Bruce Hanson are to be the next school board members. I heartily congratulate them and all their supporters, and wish them well in their term. Serving all the needs of the stakeholders is a daunting task, and they deserve our support.

I want to express my deepest thanks to all my friends (old and new) who supported me throughout the past several months; your encouragement has been so positive that I cannot adequately say thank you enough. This has been an incredible journey and experience, and I am humbled by the support shown.
