"The voters of western Wisconsin can hold Senator Harsdorf accountable for giving $140 million in tax breaks to big corporations, while gutting investments in education and health care, and raising taxes on our seniors," Moore said. "We can't balance the budget on the backs fo the middle class, and we need to stand up for our priorities. I'll be an independent voice for western Wisconsin in the State Senate, working to balance the budget fairly, while protecting our working families, students and seniors."

Friends of Sheila Harsdorf campaign spokesperson Nathan Duerkop sent the following statement to Hudson Patch:

“Sheila Harsdorf is busy doing the job she was elected to do and now special interests are forcing an unprecedented summer recall election because they object to living within taxpayer means. Sheila is the underdog against the Moore political machine, built largely by out-of-district special interests and national union bosses. We know who Moore will be serving – the tax-and-spend agenda she embraces. Sheila will continue to listen to and serve taxpayers.”

“Today’s announcement was just another step toward another election the special interests need because they want to block reform and continue spending beyond taxpayers ability to pay.”

“Sheila will continue standing up for middle-class taxpayers and against the tax and spend policies of her opponent. Moore’s plans would lead to at least a $730 property tax increase on homeowners and fewer family supporting jobs as Wisconsin job providers leave the state. We can't afford Moore's plan and will be making that case through the special interest’s noise over the next couple of months.”
