VIDEO: Hudson City Council Holds Dog Track Rezoning Hearing

The Hudson School District referendum to purchase the St. Croix Meadows property passed on Tuesday, but the City of Hudson can still kill the deal if it decides not to rezone the land for public use.

A PDF of the Hudson School District's presentation has been added to this post.

It gets very loud on my computer. When the River Channel version is available, I'll swap it out.

Thanks for posting this. I watched and was amazed at how many people did not follow the reules about not talking about a need for a new high school. It was a rezoning meeting, that was the topic and the direction of the mayor. Those that follwed the rules, thank you. I agree with the speaker about the cutting of public safety. It takes a feeling of being safe, having low crime and a fully functional public safety staff (police and file) that draws people to live in a community, not a new high school. We currently have quality education in Hudson, do we not? I am confused about the school selling Newton field to put it back on the tax base. What could be build so close to a school. It is only 50 fet away and not a use for housing or business. Those that offered building on land to make up the difference in lost taxes, if it fails will you not build? why not build anyway and expand the tax base. That little bit falls flat on it premise. Rezone then I will develope commerical property. Was that meant as a threat to not build? Can someone help me out here? A lot of the growth is in the town of Hudson and north of the city when the new bridge is build, so why not build in an open field somewhere out of the city?

Michael, I can't seem to bring up any videos, the area is black with USTREAM in the right hand upper corner?? Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thanks, Bob

There should be a play button in the lower left. Perhaps your machine doesn't have the latest version of Flash or some other required plugin.

OK. The River Channel's video is now available and I have embedded it. Ustream is a good live option, but the River Channel's professional footage is always the best option after-the-fact when it's available.
