Recall Election Voter Turnout High at Hudson Polls

Before 1 p.m., more than 4,000 votes had been cast in the City of Hudson, the Town of Hudson and the Village of North Hudson.

Voter turnout appears to be high for the Wisconsin 10th Senate District recall election between Democratic challenger Shelly Moore and Republican state Sen. Sheila Harsdorf.

As of 12:45 p.m., 4,029 ballots had been counted at Hudson's five poll locations, and an after-work voting rush is expected.Β

The Town of Hudson traditionally has the largest number of voters of any single precinct in the senate district. As of 12:05 p.m., 1,475 voters had cast ballots at . On July 12, in the recall primary between Moore and protest/fake candidate Isaac Weix, the town processed 1,651 ballots in all. The November 2010 gubernatorial race drew 3,099 votes. Today, the Town of Hudson was nearly halfway to that total by noon.

City residents vote in one of three polling locations: , the and the .

As of 12:20 p.m. today at the Government Center, 625 ballots had been cast and many absentee ballots had yet to be processed. Compare that to 977 total votes in the primary and 1,827 total votes in the gubernatorial election.

As of 12:30 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, 695 ballots had been cast and many absentee ballots had yet to be processed. In the primary, 830 votes were cast at this location, and in the gubernatorial race, 1,409 people voted.

As of 12:40 p.m. today at Hudson City Hall, 580 ballots had been processed, including all the absentee ballots. In the primary, 642 total votes were cast downtown, and 1,043 people voted in the gubernatorial race.

Village of North Hudson

As of 12:45 p.m., the village had processed 654 ballots with some absentee ballots yet to be processed. In the primary, 843 total North Hudson residents voted throughout the day. Back in the 2010 gubernatorial race, 1,430 North Hudson residents cast their ballots at .
