St. Croix Crossing Construction Makes Some Nearby WI Neighbors Ill at Ease

One family north of Hudson is suing to stop WisDOT from altering their easement allowing access to the St. Croix River, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Everyone is 100 percent happy with construction of the St. Croix Crossing project. (If you believe that, how'd you'd like to buy a bridge?)

Tony and Sarah Muellenberg own a home and St. Croix River beachfront near the Wisconsin end of the new crossing now under construction. They've moved out because of the racket from crews building the bridge, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press — and now they've filed a lawsuit to stop the Wisconsin Department of Transportation from relocating the easement they use to get to their beach.

The family contends the new easement path would be too steep. WisDOT says it's actually less steep.

One neighboring family share the Muellenberg's complaints about construction noise. Barbara Baber, a retired English and journalism teacher at Tartan High School in Oakdale, told the newspaper. "Saturday night is bliss because they don't work on Saturday night." She and her husband, Gerald, also support the Muellenberg's lawsuit.
