Two weeks ago, I attended a meeting hosted by the area’s new Congressman, Sean Duffy. I had not met Congressman Duffy before but knew his reputation to be energetic and open to tough questions. I was also impressed with the schedule of events in which he planned to personally participate throughout the district before the Congress reassembled.
Duffy answered the questions -- very few were softballs -- with honesty and personal connection to the audience. This above all encouraged me that our new congressman will be a strong voice for western Wisconsin in D.C.
I want to thank Congressman Duffy and his staff for hosting the recent town hall and informational sessions, and encourage them to continue to do so. Rep. Duffy has common-sense values, and I look forward to seeing him in action in the upcoming session.
I encourage all citizens to participate in their government and interact with their representatives on all levels, including attending events, engaging with a political party or social issue, or running for local office themselves.
