Hudson Runner Recounts Boston Marathon Explosion: 'Too Close for Comfort'

The 2013 Boston Marathon on Monday was rocked by two explosions near its finish line, about four hours into the race.

According to the race's website, 10 Hudson runners were participating in the race.

One of those runners, Kelli Mutschler, posted this on the Hudson Patch Facebook page Monday afternoon:

All of us runners are ok that I know from Hudson. Thanks. Lots of caos and activity. Praying no more issues!

Mutschler wrote that she crossed the finish line about 24 minutes before the explosions.

"Too close for my comfort," she wrote. "I heard a boom and looked behind me to see smoke and another boom. Very scary."

It’s not clear yet what happened or led to the explosions.

  • Angie Ritter Quitter: For anyone that Graduated with or knows the Sally Roberts Dupere she is ok and finished before the explosion!!!

The blast killed three people, and injured more than 140 others, according to NBC News.
