Hudson Gymnast Qualifies for WIAA State Meet; Team Finishes Fourth at Sectionals
Hudson junior Amanda Baker will compete in three events and the all-around competition at the WIAA state gymnastics meet next weekend in Wisconsin Rapids.
junior Amanda Baker advanced to the WIAA state gymnastics meet by placing third in three events and fourth in the all-around competition at the WIAA sectional meet held in Chippewa Falls on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011.
Baker tied for fourth in the all-around competition with a score of 35.150 by virtue of 9.200 on the floor exercise, 8.425 on the balance beam, 8.850 on the vault and 8.675 on the uneven bars.
Her marks in the floor exercise, vault and uneven bars were each good enough for third-place finishes, which qualified her for state in those events. Baker earned ninth place on the balance beam.

As a team, the Raiders finished fourth with a team score of 132.025, behind Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point and Chippewa Falls.
