Hudson's Jordan Cullen Repeats as Short & Fat Champ at Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival

The Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival is something like the Boston Marathon for Midwest bicyclists and it took place over the weekend in Cable.

Jordan Cullen, 17, of Hudson finished course in under 50 minutes, nearly three minutes ahead of the nearest competitor in the Short & Fat 16, even though his time was a bit off from last year.

Adam Tripp was Hudson's top finisher in the Chequamegon 40 with a 2:23:31.2 time good enough for 111th place. 

The race started with 27 riders in 1983. This year, 1,850 riders rode the 40 miles to finish at Telemark Resort. Another 900 riders were to start concurrently in downtown Cable in the 16-mile Short & Fat and also finish at Telemark.
