Hello fellow Patch People,

I hope you are enjoying fall as much as I am. Such a beautiful time in Hudson. There are so many great books coming out lately. Too many to list but I'm going to take a stab at it anyway. Please feel free to pre order any time by calling 715-220-8818 or by email: Brian@chapter2books.com.

There's a little known author, maybe you've heard of him.....Stephen King? He's got a sequel out to The Shining called Doctor Sleep. On Tuesday 10/1. Someone who is famous for her memoir Eat, Pray, Love will have her first novel released, The Signature Of All Things. I really enjoyed reading an advanced copy. John Grisham's latest: Sycamore Row will be out 10/15. There will also be a sequel to Bridget Jones Diary by Helen Fielding 10/15, Mad About The Boy. I really hesitate to make lists like this because there is no way to cover all the amazing books coming out, especially because I'm only touching on best selling authors.

That said...in non fiction....Bill O'Reilly's latest Killing Jesus came out this week. Malcolm Gladwell's latest: David and Goliath will be out this Tuesday, 10/1.

There is a hot title coming out 10/8 for kids. The latest Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson book: The House Of Hades. Rick Riordan has written a few different series for young people that are great for reluctant readers and voracious readers and anyone in between! Other favorite children's authors with new books include Kate DiCamillo, Jacqueline West, a new Pete The Cat , a new Llama Llama, Dork Diaries, Ivy and Bean and Wimpy Kids- OH MY!

One other reason I hesitate to make lists like this is that it doesn't account for all the debut works by new authors and it doesn't really account for local authors either. Please stop down soon to browse. And chat too :)

We've had some fun new groups starting lately and will still welcome new members. The 3rd Thursday at noon group is going strong. They'll be discussing Red Bones by Anne Cleves on 10/17.

We have story time every Monday morning at 10:30 with stories, games and lots of fun. Our mystery reader's club meets every 2nd Wednesday. On October 9th they'll be discussing The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler at 7pm.

The Regional Reads group is starting out with a great book, Louise Erdrich's National Book Award Winner: The Round House. It is a wonderful book that just released in paper this week. Join us for that group Sunday, 10/20 at 3pm.

We have a great author event on Saturday October 5th that you won't want to miss. Patrick Bettendorf, beloved owner of Ruby and Sugar will bring the dogs and the books he wrote about their lives in to meet everyone at noon. Ruby's Tale is a wonderful book about the very important life this rescue dog has lived.

Coincidentally that Saturday is also the 3rd annual Star Wars Reads Day. I haven't gotten a chance to ask Patrick if Ruby has ever watched Star Wars but I bet if she has, she's a fan. I also bet that if your young one wanted to read a Star Wars book to Ruby on that Saturday she would love it.

We'll have a TON of great Star Wars give aways that Saturday. Posters, bookmarks, activity sheets, buttons, stickers, the works.

Let's see.....what else is new? Well.....we are having a huge sale. Call it a Fall Sale, Clearance Sale, Customer Appreciation, whatever you want but come down and take advantage of big savings in the next few weeks.

We're also increasing the inventory of used books; so look for bargains there.

We've got a brand new Birthday Club and lots of advantages for people in our Frequent Buyer Club. Call 715-220-8818 or check our website for more details. It's easy to sign up and start taking advantage of discounts and other perks.

We're getting geared up for a great holiday shopping season and hope to always be your first stop for books, gifts and more! Thanks very much. We really appreciate your business.
