The Valley Chamber Chorale Announces Auditions

The Valley Chamber Chorale will hold auditions for experienced choral singers in all voice parts during the month of July.

The Chorale is a mixed voice ensemble that enjoys a professional standard and an enviable reputation as an arts organization in the greater Twin Cities area. Made up of 45 adults, drawn from many walks of life, and from throughout the St. Croix Valley and the Twin Cities, the Chorale performs music from the entire range of choral literature: from Renaissance to contemporary, a cappella to works with full professional orchestra. The coming year will be the VCC’s 40th anniversary season.

Singers should have a strong choral background, having sung in college, high school or other advanced ensembles.

Auditionees are asked to prepare one song for the audition (art song, aria, folk song, hymn, or musical theater piece). An accompanist will be provided. Auditions will be approximately 20 minutes and will include a check of voice range and color, tonal memory, sight-reading as well as the prepared song.
