UPDATE: 30-Hour Bell-Ringing Marathon Underway at County Market

Jeremy Lilyquist and Derek Gilbert are picking up where legendary bell-ringer Helen McCombie left off. The duo will endure a 30-hour bell-ringing marathon to benefit the Salvation Army.

UPDATE (9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011): Jeremy Lilyquist and Derek Gilbert began their 30-hour bell-riniging marathon at 5 a.m. and have already been paid a visit by KARE 11.

Last year, Helen McCombie in front of Hudson's . It was her fifth year completing the feat, but this year two Anchor Insurance agents will pick up where she left off.

Hudsonites Jeremy Lilyquist and Derek Gilbert, who both work at Anchor Insurance, will begin the 30-hour marathon at County Market at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20. It will be all over at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Myke LaVenture of Luxury Limos says he will provide a limo ride to and from County Market for any individual who makes a $1,000 or more donation to the effort.

If you can't make it to County Market, you can send your donation to The Salvation Army/ Grace Place Shelter, 203 Church Hill Rd. Somerset, WI 54025 or call 715-247-2944 to leave a phone pledge.

In addition to Lilyquist and Gilbert, a third individual has risen to the challenge in New Richmond. Linda Lewis of New Richmond will be bell-ringing at the New Richmond Walmart store during the same period of time.
