Veteran's Day, Raiders Football, School Board and More: The Week Ahead in Hudson

You'll have to choose what to do as meetings and events stack up during the work week and as the weekend gets started.


Here are highlights from what's going on in and around Hudson this week: 

Students will gather for Veteran's Day assemblies Monday—at 9 a.m. at Hudson Middle School and at 2:45 p.m. at E.P. Rock Elementary School, where the school "would like to invite all veterans and families to our All School Assembly to celebrate Veteran's Day and to honor our veterans service," according to the district website

The Hudson Board of Education meets Monday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at River Crest Elementary School (PDF agenda). Among their topics for action: 

  • Partnership with Hudson Police Department: Satellite Police Office at Hudson Middle School/Hudson Prairie Elementary 
  • Secondary Space for Learning: County UU Property City Feasibility Study for Extending Utilities
Meanwhile at Hudson City Hall, the Public Utility Commission meets Tuesday at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, the St. Croix EMS Commission and Municipal Court convene. 

Learn about adoption services at an orientation program Tuesday at 6 p.m. at HOPE in Oak Park Heights, MN, an organization serving 19 counties in western Wisconsin and the state of Minnesota. 

Also Tuesday, the Libertarian Party Pierce St Croix will meet to begin discussing crowd sourcing for a campaign strategy at 7 p.m. at Willow River Saloon in Burkhardt. 

Looking ahead to the start of the weekend, on Friday at 6 p.m. at Chapter2Books you can meet the photographers behind the new 2014 Hudson Area Calendar that benefits the Hudson Home And Garden Club. On Friday at 7 p.m. is the first performance of the second and final weekend of The Secret Garden at Hudson High School. Also at 7 p.m. on Friday: Arrowhead vs. Hudson in a high school football semifinal playoff game at Goerke Park in Stevens Point.
