A Pause at Packers-Vikings Game for Zach Sobiech, 'Hometown Hero'

The late Lakeland resident, whose song 'Clouds' went to Number One on iTunes, will be honored during Sunday's NFL game in Minneapolis, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Fans at the Minnesota Vikings-Green Bay Packers game will enjoy Clouds Sunday—even under the Metrodome roof.

The song will play during the first timeout of the second quarter, after Laura and Rob Sobiech of Lakeland accept a "Hometown Hero" award on Mall of America Field on behalf of their late son, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press

The Stillwater Area High School student and musician wrote "Clouds" as a way to say goodbye to friends and family after he was diagnosed with bone cancer. He died in May.

U.S. Bank Hometown Heroes are "Minnesota Citizens that have gone to extraordinary measures to benefit their community," according to the Minnesota Vikings' promotions webpage. You can nominate a Hometown Hero at Vikings.com.
