Change of Location for Hudson's Reindeer in the Park Event on Saturday

Updated below. Organizers of Hudson's Reindeer in the Park are looking for a warm place to hold the event Saturday, according to their page on Facebook: "We are working on an INDOOR location to move this to this year due to the extreme cold weather. Please help to spread the word!"

And it sounds like they have found their new location. On the Hudson Patch Facebook page, Becca Johnson, who serves on the event's planning committee, posted: 

"Reindeer in the Park is sponsored by local Hudson businesses to bring Santa and his live reindeer to downtown Hudson normally at the band-shell in Lakefront Park. I have received word that we are moving it to Camp St Croix Y Camp located at 532 County Rd F, Hudson, Wisconsin. The weather will just be too cold to have it all outdoors this year. There is horse-drawn wagon rides, activities for kids, Hudson Mom's group bake sale, hot cocoa for sale with Boy Scouts for their fundraiser, Kettle Korn for sale. The event itself is free because of the sponsors. Please share the word of this event and new location this year! We are doing our best to move everything and plan accordingly."

Hudson’s popular Reindeer in the Park event will be held on Saturday, December 7 but the location has been changed because of the expected extreme cold weather. The Reindeer event has moved from Lakefront Park to YMCA Camp St. Croix, 532 County Road F, on the south side of Hudson across from River Crest Elementary School.

Reindeer event activities will include the traditional Santa visits with children, live reindeer, ice carving, crafts and other activities from noon to 4 pm.

The Phipps Center for the Arts will also host their annual Reindeer in the Park event with a free hands-on family activity from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in The Phipps Center lobby.

Shops and bistros in downtown Hudson will also host Reindeer event specials with shopping discounts during the day on Saturday. Many will have free refreshments, such as hot chocolate, cookies and hot apple cider.
