We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! I must be getting old, because I actually find myself saying, "Back in my day, we just calledRead More it 'winter'. If it got cold, you wore a scarf. If it got REAL cold, they cancelled recess."

It's unfortunate that WI can not be as decisive as MN...how nice for the parents in the Twin CityRead More schools to have time to plan and prepare for closed schools on Monday.

Yes, kk, Bush started and then HALTED the Solyndra loan before the Obama admin picked it back up andRead More gave it to them. Go beyond Think Progress for your "facts." Here is a link from CNN. "It was started by Bush: The DOE loan program that funded Solyndra was actually started by President Bush in 2005. It was intended to provide government support for "innovative technologies." But the Bush administration never approved Solyndra's loan, saying the application needed more work." http://money.cnn.com/2012/06/06/technology/solyndra/index.htm

Yes, kk, the Solyndra loan was started and HALTED during the Bush admin. Go beyond "ThinkRead More Progress" for your fact check. Here is a link from CNN. Not too difficult to find more than one source but I felt you would try the "Faux News" garbage if it wasn't a democrat friendly site. It was started by Bush: The DOE loan program that funded Solyndra was actually started by President Bush in 2005. It was intended to provide government support for "innovative technologies." Privatize all schools and you pay for what you will get. End using my money for something i don'tRead More use.

One other problem is that Hudson students are last for college orientation. Since class selectionRead More and dorm assignments are given out at these sessions, Hudson students tend to get whatever is left over. They can't take off time from school because that is when finals are happening. As otherrs have said, get rid of all the miscellaneous time off, in particular the 2 days in October.

I graduated this year from Hudson and with graduating so late in June I wasn't able to start summerRead More classes. WITC summer classes started the very first week in June! Get rid of the late starts and early releases! All they do is mess students sleeping routines up! St.Croix Central got out three or four weeks before us!

Perhaps it is. Apparently he has learned nothing in Boot Camp as the former Marines that I knowRead More don't believe it is about "the one" as it is about the "Corps". If he were my son I would be immensely proud of his achievement in Boot Camp. However I would counsel him to leave the military uniform home and wear the "uniform" of his high school class (cap & gown) and graduate with the members of his class. Perhaps I should not have said "jerk" so I apologize for that. "Narcissistic" I do not apologize for. I wish him well as he gains a more mature perspective on life.

The amended policy that the school put in place is no different than many districts around the stateRead More of WI. When I attended a student who I mentored graduation several years back (around 2003), there were at least 5-6 students graduating in their ROTC uniforms instead of caps and gowns at the school. This isn't something new or something different from what many districts already allow a provision for.

Needless Militaristic Jingoism. It's about high school, not about the military. Why is that soRead More difficult to grasp?

So evidently they do not pay so bad over here if someone working in the cities came here to work.
quizno100 June 8, 2013 at 11:10 am
Check your facts. Mr. Mayer is no doubt an excellent selection for the position and will do a greatRead More job. As for the salary, he was in a role that required all the special licensure requirements however he still was paid as a TOSA. You are not comparing apples to apples.
