Phipps Center for the Arts Puts on 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever'

Hudson residents brought the misadventures of the dreadful Herdman children and their neighbors to life Dec. 9-12.

"What do you get when you cross a vampire with a snowman?" asked a young man peering out from underneath a bowler hat. "I don't know," replied the audience. "Frostbite!"  The Best Christmas Pageant Ever opened to a full house at the Phipps Center for the Arts on Thursday, Dec. 9. Before the curtain rose, the audience was treated to a 15-minute variety show of the production's child actors, including two pint-sized comedians. Adapted from the novel with the same name, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever was created by Barbara Robinson in 1972 and follows the ups and downs of Grace Bradley, to whom the task of running their church's annual Christmas pageant had fallen.
