Hudson Police Looking for Man Wanted in Kenosha

The Hudson Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding a man wanted on absconding charges out of Kenosha. The man has been staying in Hudson and left last week, but has remained in the area.

The Hudson Police Department is looking for a man named James M. Eckhoff who is wanted on an absconding warrant out of Kenosha. Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen issued the following press release: The Hudson Police Department is asking the publics help in locating a wanted subject believed to be still in the City of Hudson.  James Matthew Eckhoff is wanted on misdameaner charges out of Kenosha WI, and a Dept of Corrections warrant for absconding.  The Hudson Police Department also interested in talking with Eckhoff regarding an on-going criminal investigation.  Eckhoff had been staying at 1922 Brookstone Circle in the City of Hudson.  Eckhoff left this residence last week but it is believed he has been seen back at this home over the past …

UPDATE: Name Released of Woman Killed in Highway 35 Crash

A 22-year-old woman was pronounced dead at Hudson Hospital after she crashed into the southbound ditch of Highway 35 just south of Interstate 94 on Friday afternoon.

UPDATE (7:36 a.m., Nov. 26, 2012): Hudson Police have identified the woman killed in Friday's single-vehicle crash as Myrrhia J. Kleinbrook, 22, of River Falls, according to press release updated on Monday morning. According to the release, Kleinbrook was driving north on Highway 35 when her vehicle veered into the median under the Hanley Road overpass. Her four-door car hit the guardrail, crossed the median and both southbound lanes of traffic before hitting a concrete culvert in the west ditch. Kleinbrook was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the release. Wisconsin State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash. --- ORIGINAL POST (4:25 a.m., Nov. 24, 2012): A 22-year-old woman died after crashing …

FBI Releases 2011 Stats for Property, Violent Crimes in Hudson Area

See how violent crimes and property crimes were broken down in Hudson for last year.

The FBI has released 2011 crime statistics for reporting communities across America, including Hudson. The Hudson Police Department saw 12 violent crimes and 501 property crimes last year. The North Hudson Police Department handled 22 property crimes and zero violent crimes in 2011. The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office responded to 19 violent crimes throughout the county, and 474 property crimes last year. All of the statistics, as reported by the FBI, are reported below. Emergency Personnel Respond to Call of Possible Jumper on St. Croix River Bridge

An investigation is ongoing after emergency personnel responded to a possible jump off the St. Croix River bridge late Sunday night. No fatalities, injuries or missing persons have been reported.

UPDATE (11:41 a.m., Oct. 22, 2012): Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen said it was possible that the "jumper" didn't jump into the water. The witnesses who reported the Sunday night incident said the person was 15-30 feet from the east end of the bridge, which is not directly over water, Jensen said. Personnel from St. Croix EMS, Rescue and Dive Team, Hudson Fire Department, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene, according to Jensen. Sparks Fly as Hudson Cop Pursues Auto Theft Suspect Into Minnesota

A vehicle chase that began in Baldwin on Monday morning went through Hudson and into Minnesota. The stolen van had its tires punctured near Roberts and was riding on rims through Hudson and Lakeland before the suspect was apprehended.

"Sparks were flying everywhere," Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen said about a Monday morning pursuit of a stolen vehicle that went through Hudson on Interstate-94 before 6 a.m. A 2000 lavender Dodge was riding on its front rims after law enforcement officers from Wisconsin State Patrol and the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office deployed "stop sticks" to puncture the vehicle's tires near mile marker 12 and again near mile marker 10, according to St. Croix County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Scott Knudson. When it was all over, deputies from Washington County took Dylan Dimler, 20, of New Auburn, into custody pending charges.
