The body of a man found Tuesday in the St. Croix River has been identified as Donald D. Marklowitz Jr., 54, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Office news release. He was last seen in Hudson on April 1.
UPDATE: The body of a man found Tuesday in the St. Croix River has been identified as Donald D. Marklowitz Jr., 54, of Baldwin, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Office news release. Full text of the release: On May 14th, 2013, the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the St. Croix River near the 900 blk of Quentin Avenue South to recover a deceased subject. Subsequently the body was turned over to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The Ramsey County ME's Office positively identified the subject as Donald Duane Marklowitz Jr.dob/070158. Marklowitz Jr. was last seen in Hudson, Wisconsin on April 1st, 2013. The exact cause of death is still under investigation. At this time, neither the Washington County …

Jerry Cusick, 53, of Stillwater, was shot by a turkey hunter while he was scouting a hunting area in the Town of Somerset early Tuesday morning. The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
Authorities are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting incident in the Town of Somerset that sent a longtime Washington County Sheriff’s deputy to the hospital. The victim has been identified as Washington County Sheriff's Office Commander Jerry Cusick, 53, of Stillwater. “Cusick suffered a single shotgun blast to the head, face, neck and shoulder,” according to an update from the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office. “He is listed in good condition. The snowmobiler who died on the St. Croix River in Bayport on Saturday has been identified as Billy Meister, 22, of Stillwater. He was a 2009 graduate of Hudson High School.
The snowmobiler who died on the St. Croix River in Bayport on Saturday has been identified as Billy Meister. Bill Meister confirmed his son’s death to the Pioneer Press on Sunday. Billy was a 2009 graduate of Hudson High School. It appears Meister rode through open water about 75 yards off the shore, where warm water feeds into the river near the Allen S. King Plant in Bayport. A witness called in the report at 11:54 a.m., on Saturday, and multiple agencies, including the Washington County Dive Team, responded to the scene. First responders pulled Meister from the water and transported him by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was later pronounced dead. A 52-year-old Hudson man was charged by the Washington County Attorney’s Office with second-degree DWI, fleeing police on a motorcycle and possessing a pistol while under the influence of alcohol.
A Hudson man faces felony charges after he allegedly fled Washington County deputies on a motorcycle, while he was under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a handgun. Christian Rask Fauchald, 52, was charged by the Washington County Attorney’s Office with second-degree DWI, fleeing police in a motor vehicle and possessing a pistol while under the influence of alcohol. According to the criminal complaint: Washington County deputies were on routine patrol on Highway 95 in Bayport just before midnight on Sept. 1 when they saw a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. Deputies reported that they clocked the driver, later determined to be Fauchald, travelling 66 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputies activated their emergency lights …

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office asked for assistance from Washington County deputies ahortly after 4:20 p.m. for a possible head-on crash with injuries, according to Twin Cities Incident Report.
A crash on the Wisconsin approach to the Stillwater Lift Bridge created a long traffic jam for Monday evening river crossing commuters. The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office asked for assistance from Washington County deputies shortly after 4:12 p.m. Monday for a possible head-on crash with injuries, according to Twin Cities Incident Report. Airbags in both vehicles reportedly deployed. The crash also backed traffic up through downtown Hudson on Highway 35. There were minor injuries as a result of the crash, a St. Croix County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said Tuesday morning. The details of the crash were not yet available.
