This week's "What Should Go Here?" property is the former WisDOT land that was home to a Wisconsin Tourism Center. The land was bought by Hudson Center LLC, a partnership among four local developers including David Robson and Brian Zeller of Greystone Commercial. The $1.3 million sale of the 16-acre property closed last week, according to Zeller. Though the property was sold by the state for potential commercial use, the City of Hudson Common Council would have to rezone the property before any commercial development could happen. "The City of Hudson feels it would be premature for the state to sell the property for commercial development," Darnold told Patch a year ago. This week's "What Should Go Here?" property is the former location of Stewart-Anderson Hair Co. shop (1920 Crest View Dr.) in the strip mall known as Southside Center. Stewart-Anderson is now located at 403 Vine St. The property has terrific visibility from I-94. Behind the shop where the former Hudson Theatre was located, Bill's Gun Shop & Range is under construction. Owner John Monson hopes to open the shop on Dec. 1. Holiday gas station, Northland Liquors, Subway, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Sweet Butter Cakery, Lady Katherine Women's Fitness, T-Mobile Phone Zone, North Country Gold & Silver Co. are also located at Southside Center. In this week's installment of What Should Go Here?, we'll take a look at the large end cap space of the Plaza 94 Shopping Center, a retail area that's highly visible from the freeway. Other tenants in the shopping center include Hudson Bowling Center, Dollar Tree, Radio Shack, Hallmark, Croix Consignment, Northland Liquors, Fresh & Natural, Anytime Fitness, and more. According to the Kraus-Anderson Realty Company website, the property available for lease on Ward Avenue is more than 13,300 square feet with a 100-foot storefront just behind Freedom Valu Center.
