GD freethinker, I often wondered this too if only from a journalistic perspective of reporting the surrounding facts. There may have been one Twin Cities newspaper that reported he was carrying his gun when he arrived home. Dan was my neighbor, and he had told me the summer before he was going to AA. I often wonder about the outcome if: 1) there was no gun rally that day 2) he hadn't fallen off the wagon.
