Rep. Ron Kind, Neighbor

A native of La Crosse, Wisconsin, I was born and raised in western Wisconsin. I attended Harvard University and later earned a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a law degree from the University of Minnesota. I was first elected to represent western Wisconsin in 1996 and the voters have reelected me ever since.

I currently serve as a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, vice-chair of the centrist New Democrat Coalition, and have created and serve on several caucuses - including as former chair of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus.

My wife, Tawni, and I live in La Crosse with our two sons, Johnny and Matthew. An avid outdoor recreation enthusiast, hunter and fisherman, I enjoy hiking, camping, and spending every chance I gets to be on the Mississippi River or at the family farm in Jackson County.
