Here's what the National Weather Service says could happen in the Winter Storm Watch issued Sunday evening and in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday:

"Temperatures will cool Tuesday evening and allow rain to transition to snow. It is possible many areas across southern and eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin could see 4 to 7 inches of snow."

Higher amounts are possible, the NWS added, along with significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations.
