Wanna-Be Library in Uganda Has Friend from Hudson and Is Seeking More

Kendra Smith's project needs money and books. She started a GoFundMe campaign and is asking for your support.

Kendra Smith of Hudson is a Peace Corps volunteer living in a rural village in Southwestern Uganda called Omungari (or Engari for short).

I am in the process of getting a community library built out of recycled plastic bottles but will be short on funds to supply the library with books. Which is pretty much the whole point! So I'm trying to raise money to buy books and to help pay for a shipment of books being sent from America to Uganda. Any type of donation would be most wonderful and help this amazing community become more literate together! I put a limit of $1000 but the more the better! If you have books and would like to send them to me directly please send them to the address below:

The Engari Community Library in Uganda campaign on GoFundMe has raised $150 toward its goal of $1,000 so far.
