Trinity Breaks Ground on New $1.3 Million Expansion in Hudson

Trinity Church and Academy in Hudson held a groundbreaking celebration last week for an expansion that will add a second level to the school for the upcoming school year.

The $1.3 million dollar expansion and renovation will add more than 12,000 square feet to the school, including five classrooms, a new science lab / art room, new special education room, additional bathrooms, and space for private music lessons.

The existing first floor will also undergo changes, including a new library / media center, a new school office and a reconfiguring of the pre-school to an early childhood wing. The project also includes a new entrance to the school on 5th Street, a new security system, expanded parking and a drive through drop-off.

About 250 people turned out for the celebration held on May 22.

Derrick Building Solutions, LLC is the general contractor for the project, and Architectural Network, Inc. is the architect.

Trinity Lutheran Church’s capital campaign last fall to fund the expansion project resulted in more than $1.4 million in pledged commitments.

The expansion will also benefit several of Trinity Lutheran Church’s ministries, including a large, new dedicated space for its Youth Ministry.
