From Hudson to Washington, IL: A Truckful of Tornado Relief

Agave Kitchen's Paul Rode put out the call, filled a donated truck with donations and drove it to the Illinois town hit hard by tornado damage.

See how the story unfolded on Facebook as Paul Rode of The Agave Kitchen organized a local drive for relief supplies then drove a truck to tornado-ravaged Washington, IL.

It all happened, from concept to completion of delivery, within 48 hours. Rode's first post at the Agave Kitchen Facebook page suggesting the idea was at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. At 7:20 a.m. Thursday, he posted: "Nice work Hudson Area! We did it! Mission Complete. I am heading HOME! #penske truck, take me home." (Penske donated the truck.)

Rode has reason to be efficient: He organized similar efforts to deliver tornado relief from Hudson to Oklahoma last May, and from Hudson to New Jersey last November after Hurricane Sandy.
