Appleton North Safety: 'Everyone Remembers How It Felt to Lose to Hudson Last Year'
The Raiders meet the Lightning at 1 p.m. Saturday in Chippewa Falls for a Level 3 football playoff.
What's going through the minds inside the football helmets at Appleton North as they get ready to face Hudson High School in a Division 1 Level 3 playoff game Saturday?
The Appleton Post Crescent interviewed Appleton North safety Connor Rolain in the video above (or at postcrescent.com). Rolain told the newspaper: "We know we have a good Hudson team next week and I know everybody remembers what it felt like to lose to them last year. So I know we’re going to be working hard this week and playing some good football Friday or Saturday.”
What the Lightning players remember was a 40-21 drubbing at the Raiders' hands in the 2012 playoffs.
This year, the Raiders take on Appleton North in a 1 p.m. Saturday game at Dorais Field in Chippewa Falls. Both teams are 10-1, the Chippewa Herald reports, and the winner will meet the victor in Friday's Arrowhead-Germantown game (bracket PDF).
If you can't make the trip to "Newton Field EAST," as a @Hudson_Football tweet dubbed Dorais Field, MSBNsports.net is carrying livestream video of the game online at MSBN Channel 5.
